Distributed in Australia by CR Kennedy, the Pentax WG-3 is a ruggedised, weather-proof device. It is not known when the new2 model will be available in Australia.

The WG-3 body is crush-proof, shock-proof from drops of up to 2 metres, cold-proof to 14 degrees F and waterproof to 13.7 metres. It can withstand up to 99 kilo of force, the company said.

The camera series also employs a folded optical zoom lens that reduces its vulnerability to moisture and dust while delivering a pocket-size configuration without a protruding lens barrel.

Also added is a textured grip for a controlled ergonomic grasp and colourful grip accents.

"The addition of white to the existing line of WG-3 cameras is a timely inclusion for upcoming summer activities," said John Carlson, Pentax senior marketing manager. "The WG-3 is a great, worry-free camera to keep with you for a day at the beach, a long hike or even on the slopes in the winter. Regardless of season, climate or weather the WG-3 was built to withstand the elements and capture great images."

The white version of the WG-3 will be available online at www.pentax.com.au in Australia shortly.
