4, 662 products from 1, 865 companies in 54 countries were submitted to the competition this year and winning products will be on display this July at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen Germany.
Nikon is also launching a free online service for sharing images - Nikon IMAGE SPACE - available not only to Nikon digital camera enthusiasts to upload, view, organise and share their photos and movies, but other users, too.
Image Space will replace Nikon's previous storage service My Picture Town, which had been available to users since August 2007.
The new service is marked as a complete overhaul of the previous one.
Primary features include: two types of free accounts, improved usability, greater performance as a web system and greater collaboration with social networking sites.
