Beating the Xbox One version of the game out of the blocks is the Playstation 4 version of Minecraft, the hugely popular DIY world-building game for today's digital children from Mojang.
In one sense it's like a strange digital version of Lego, in another it is a virtual reality world that has captured the imagination of children and parents.
Minecraft is already available for PCs and Macs, the Xbox 360 and the PS3, as well as in a "Pocket Edition" for iOS and Android devices.

What Minecraft fans have been waiting for has been promised new versions to appear on the PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita, with the Xbox One and PS Vita versions not yet ready for release.
that: "Minecraft on PlayStation 4 makes the most use of the consoles next-gen features with the power of the PS4 delivering builders a more expansive, detailed world and an even more immersive gameplay experience."
Instead of a mouse or trackpad, PS4 owners use the DUALSHOCK 4 touch pad to "build and create with even more simplicity while the SHARE button lets builders broadcast and share their creations to the world."
There's also an interesting twist for owners of Minecraft on the PS3 who have upgraded to a PS4 - they'll be able to upgrade to the PS4 version for just $5.95.
Another twist for PS3 Minecraft owners is they can experience their own Minecraft PS3 creations on the PS4, the latest version employs cross-save functionality.
Sony explains "this means players of Minecraft on PS3 can bring existing creations and worlds onto the next-gen console experience quickly and easily without having to start building again from scratch."
Available now to buy and download electronically from the Playstation Store for $19.75, Sony says it will "announce the availability of the physical retail edition of Minecraft at a future date."
