Nvidia has added two new GPUs for PC gaming to its line-up, introducing the GeForce GTX 1050 and GTXD 1050 Ti, sporting affordable price tags.

Nvidia Adds To Gaming GPU Line-Up With GeForce GTX 1050 And GTXD 1050 TiJustin Walker, Nvidia product manager for GeForce desktop GPUs, describes the GPUs as "a great choice for new gamers" via a blog post.

"The GPU performance required to run a modern game at 1080p and 60 fps with good-quality settings has tripled for modern current-generation games," Walker writes.

"So, if you bought a GPU three or four years ago - such as the GeForce GTX 650 - and were able to play the latest games back then, you'll find your graphics performance coming up short in today's games."

Built on the Pascal architecture, both cards allow users to "play today's most popular games at a smooth 60 fps, while sipping a paltry 75 watts of power".

The GTX 1050 (starting at US$109) will be available on or before November 8, with the GTX 1050 Ti (starting at US$139) to be available on October 25.

The specs for new GPUs are:
