Distinguished by a long, flat single panel containing multiple speakers, the YSP-2200 focuses on replicating cinema surround sound through the use of room acoustics. With the centre speaker delivering audio via direct line of sight, the others project sound 'beams' into the walls, where they rebound with the replicated sensation of a multi-speaker system.
Advantageous in aesthetic design, it accentuates the charisma of typically dominant televisions. It also spares the wire eyesore that comes with 5.1 (and greater) channel systems.
Designed to sit in front of a television it is 8cm short, with adjustable feet to ensure tailored sound quality. It also has a sub-woofer that can be placed both vertically or horizontally, depending on what space is available.
The YSP-2200 also supports Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) devices which empowers users with the ability to activate it with the television's remote control.
Yamaha have included its sophisticated CINEMA DSP technology, which comes programed with 11 customised settings, such as 'Movie', 'Music' and 'Entertainment.' These already programed equalisers help deliver optimum sound that is tailored to different types of media.
