Marantz network AV Receivers get slim and 4K ready

The new slimmer networked AV receivers are designed for home cinema enthusiasts with limited space

The Marantz AV receivers are more networked with endless sources of music content: AirPlay technology lets you can listen to music library of iPhone, iPod touch and iPad wirelessly, thousands of Internet Radio stations, Spotify and Last.fm, DLNA to stream music from a network attached storage device.

Following the footsteps of their predecessors, the new NR1604 and NR1504 promise pack a mighty punch on sound.  The NR1504 has a 5-channel amplifier with 100W equal power per channel, while the NR1604 7-channel amplifier with 100W per channel.

The main difference between the two is analogue and HDMI upscaling to 4K/1080p (Full HD) on the pricier model NR1604,  and it supports newer 4K Ultra Hi Def TVs.

The receivers also has a slew of HDMI ports to hook up other devices like tablets, DVD player, phones, USB port, and supports audio formats like Apple lossless, WAV HD and FLAC HD 192/24.

The NR1604 also has 'Multi Zone', where you can output music from the main room to a different room via an additional pair of speakers.

You can also use your Android or iOS device as a remote to operate the networked receiver.

The NR1604 costs A$1,050 and NR1504 is A$800. Both come in Black and Silver-gold, and are on sale now.
