Yamaha To Unveil 3D AV Receivers

By Mendelson Tiu | Monday | 20/09/2010

Yahama Australia is set to unveil a new line of AV products today including their Aventage receiver that fully supports 3D and HDMI 1.4a.

First revealed by SmartHouse (See here)  the new receivers will also support 3D display in at either 720p50 and 1080p24 or 720p60 and 1080p24, side-by-side horizontal, and top-and-bottom formats.

Other features on the Aventage series include 7.2 channels with full HD Audio decoding, four scene buttons, iPod compatibility (with the use of a dock), Bluetooth compatibility, HDMI V.1.4a 3D, as well as 1080p upscaling.

Called the Aventage series the new receivers come in several versions, however it is not known which models will bought into Australia.

The Company claims that  the new series have been re-engineered "to make subtle changes that mean the difference between good and great sound," the company said.

Set to be introduced in September the Aventage series are said to offer peak performance through subtle design changes that were continually evaluated and tested before being implemented in the final product line.

The new models include new networking control functions for integration with a range of third-party home automation control systems, while permitting network control via a PC Web browser or by a free iPhone/iPad app on select units.

Receivers are compatible with Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) 1.5 specs to stream Internet Radio (MP3/WMA), digital music services as well as playing back music files (WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC 96/24) from a PC or DLNA server.

Pricing will be announced later today.
