Yamaha Anticipate 4K With Future-Proof Receiver

By Tony Ibrahim | Wednesday | 22/08/2012

Yamaha is anticipating the launch of 4K technology with their new entertainment management receiver.

Even though it's early days, who wants to blow thousands on a home management system that doesn't anticipate tomorrow's technology? This is the question Yamaha is addressing with their new RX-V1073 which features next-gen 4K technology, including 4K up-scaling.

The 7.2 channel receiver outs 110W per channel for powerful surround sound and puts to work a variety of technologies in an effort to be the hub of home entertainment. These include 8 in/2 out HDMI and multi-channel inputs, as well as a number of optical, coaxial, analogue and component connections.

The receiver can manage audio in two separate rooms simultaneously, exhibiting signs of intuition by assigning channels automatically.

One jewel in Yamaha's technology-crown is the company's YPAO (Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimiser) technology. It is software that calibrates your home theatre system to a room of any size or shape in accordance to the speakers being used and the room's acoustic properties. The V1073 measures up to 8 optimal listening positions and avoids areas responsible for interference, including those occupied by coffee tables and adjacent walls.

It interacts with a plethora of devices by supporting open standards (DLNA) and Apple's AirPlay technology. By using AirPlay, owners can stream compatible music libraries, including iTunes, Spotify and YouTube, wirelessly from Apple products or a Windows PC. If you don't use an Apple device, open-standard DLNA can be used to stream music wirelessly.

A USB port located on the front panel accommodates savvy devices by charging them while they play music.

The future-proof RX-V1073 is available now as a stand-alone with a recommended retail price of $1,699, or can be bundled with the YHT-1198AU home theatre package with 500 Series speakers for $4,999 RRP.
