Its in the Air: as iPad share of tab market slips, Telstra bets on strong demand for the new iPad

Telstra Bets on iPad Air The telco was the first to release iPad Air pricing yesterday, the new 20% thinner 9.7" Apple tablet, which goes on sale tomorrow.  

"Demand for the iPad Air has been strong" a Telstra spokesperson told Smarthouse. 

"We expect the iPad Air to be a popular product with customers when it goes on sale this Friday."

Figures from IHS today show Apple's share of the tablet market fell 13% year on year, as Samsung, Asus and Lenovo - based Android tabs all increased share, last quarter.

Lenovo's Yoga tablet is shortly to go on sale in JB Hi-Fi - its first consumer tablet to be sold in OZ.
