Its Got Grunt: Acer Aspire To Intel i7 Ultrabook

Days after its President pledged to ramp up on Android PC's following lower demand for Windows, Acer releases new Windows Ultrabook with more storage, graphics capabilities and Intel's new Core i5/i7 processors, in Australia.

The Aspire V7 has a 15.6" HD display, with optional FHD IPS panel (good for multi viewing), and GPU up to NVIDIA GeForce GT750M with 4GB DDR3 VRAM.

Other specs include: four integrated speakers with Dolby Home Theater v4, Intel WiDi to connect wirelessly to your TV to stream full content, and comes with optional Full HD media playback.  V7 uses a 1TB hard drive storage with an SSD system drive (20GB)

This allows fast data access and fast resume from sleep, in keeping with Ultrabook instant boot up ethos.

V7 starts at $1299.

The design has a tough chassis, strong hinges, a large trackpad and a full sized chiclet keyboard. It also has oodles of connectivity options: USB 2.0 port on the left, right and USB 3.0 port at the rear, HDMI port, an Ethernet connection and a multi-purpose port, used in conjunction with the Acer 3in1 converter for VGA output, additional USB ports and LAN.

The V7 also has an SD card reader.

"It is a highly versatile notebook that delivers the performance customers want while also exuding style and personality," Acer said in a statement, after announcing a loss last week.

"By adding touch to the Aspire V7 and taking advantage of the new Intel 4th generation processors, we have essentially recreated it from scratch with new innovative Acer technologies and the performance expected from an Acer Ultrabook.", said Gaba Cheng, Acer Australia, Head of Consumer Client Products.

Intel processors means the V7 to run at a lower power consumption - the 4-cell internal battery will run for 7 hours

RRP: From $1,299
