Mobile king goes social - launching Samsung Hope for Children in Australia.

Samsung Doin' IT For The Kids

Samsung has entered into a three-year partnership with the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) - a non-for-profit organization dedicated solely to young people.

Through the partnership, a number of initiatives will be co-created and implemented across 2013-2015, to improve student engagement  with Australian communities, and build young people's future aspirations. These will start in August.

The Samsung Hope for Children global social contribution program operates in 30 markets, bringing attention to the need for childhood education and healthcare.

Australia is a hugely important market for Samsung, which now has retail stores in both Sydney and Melbourne and is one of the biggest tech names in TVs, smartphones and PCs.  It also sponsored the Sydney Opera House in a multi-billion dollar deal.

"Samsung strives to accelerate discoveries and possibilities for all people - it's the DNA of our business," says Arno Lenior, Marketing Director, Samsung Australia.

"Through the power and innovation of our technology and with the support of FYA, we hope to inspire, motivate and educate young people across the country. We believe Samsung's technology can open the door to a world of possibilities.

Further details regarding the initiatives co-created by Samsung and FYA as part of this program will be announced in coming months.

The FYA partnership builds on Samsung's existing partnerships with Life Education and the World Education Games.

Jan Owen AM, CEO of the Foundation for Young Australians says he's "delighted" that Samsung has partnered with FYA.
