Creative's Full HD Webcam Gives Background Noise The Silent Treatment

By Tony Ibrahim | Monday | 15/10/2012

Creative has released a webcam with superior noise cancelling technology and Full HD recording capabilities, along with two other HD cams.

In total Creative released three new webcams that deliver "a far superior video and audio experience than any integrated web camera can deliver" for Mac and PC users.

Cam Connect HD 1080

Topping the range is their Creative Live! Cam Connect HD 1080. As its moniker suggests, it records video in Full HD 1080p resolution, will snap still shots in 18MPs and includes superior noise cancelling technologies. Just like Creative's SoundBlaster Axx, this webcam suppresses noise outside of an established zone, allowing the user to hold a conversation free from whatever interference fills the background.

"With the Creative Live! Cam Connect HD 1080 we are introducing the first web camera with our CrystalVoice technology, surpassing the capabilities of integrated cameras and web cameras alike with precision voice accuracy and ultimate clarity," said Low Long Chye, Director of Product Marketing for Creative.

"We're excited to implement technologies from our award-winning audio solutions into a web camera to provide a superior communications experience."

Creative Live! Cam Connect HD 1080 Technical Specifications
·    1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) HD video resolution
·    18 mega pixel* picture resolution
·    Up to 30fps frame rate @ Full HD 1080p quality
·    Dual stereo microphones with CrystalVoice technology suite
·    5MP image sensor
·    Auto focus lens
·    Plug & chat with Windows®, Mac OSX10.5 and Linux Kernel® 2.6
·    Multi-attach base

Cam Connect HD

The following Cam Connect HD is a Skype certified video camera that captures 720p HD recordings at 30 frames per second. The 8MP camera has built in H.264 hardware video processing for fluid video that doesn't tax your PC's resources.

"The power of built-in hardware encoding ensures that the quality of video communications far surpasses what any integrated web camera can offer," said Ryan Richards, Creative's Product Marketing Manager.

Patented technology has been used to silence the liquid crystal auto focus lens so that it is not picked up by the camera's sensitive microphone.

· 720p HD sensor
· 1280 x 720 video resolution
· 8 megapixel picture resolution*
· 30 fps frame rate @ 720p quality

· Integrated noise-cancelling microphone
