Telco to offer new cloud based video conferencing provided by Blue Jeans Network

Telstra Blue Jeans Cloud Videocon
Blue Jeans video conferencing technology, is now offered exclusively via the Telstra network.

The reliable video conferencing and content sharing service can be used by businesses of all sizes, Telstra said today.

The web-based solution works with most video systems and devices, making it cost-effective for businesses to adopt video conferencing, or make better use of existing equipment.

25 people can be connected in the same meeting; from a conference room, PC, tablet or smartphone.

All you need is an internet connection and a compatible device with a camera, and is cloud hosted, with no software or hardware to install.

Blue Jeans video con service starts at $249 (per licence) per month which links up to 25 people; 10 Pack bundle costs $1,000 pm and you can also get shared port accounts for $299.

According to Ovum, a third of businesses surveyed are already using business-grade video conferencing services, while another third are expecting to use it in the next year.

Cloud is one of the core growth areas Telstra are focusing on, as traditional revenue streams erode. Network Application Services (NAS) revenues grew 29% to $821m in H1 2014, it said last week.

Will Irving, Group Managing Director, Telstra Business, says professional video conferencing is a must for businesses, today.

"The flexible workplaces of today are more successful when employees working from home can see their colleagues and customers, and for local businesses to thrive in an increasingly global market.

"With this new solution employees at work, at home, or on the road can connect face-to-face with their colleagues, partners, and customers whether they are in a boardroom, an office, a living room, or a coffee shop," Irving says.

Telstra provides services to more than one million Australian businesses.
