Yahoo7 confirmed the move saying "Stuart Sayers will be leaving Yahoo!7 for a new role in the digital industry."
For Sayers, "this is just a really exciting opportunity at Amazon that I don't want to pass up", he said, adding, Yahoo!7 is "really well placed at the intersection between world leading technology and world leading content."
He has agreed to remain in the business until the end of January, to ensure a managed transition working alongside
Emma Harrington, who will take on the role of Acting MD for the media company until a new CEO is secured.
Harrington most recently held the role of Head of Data and Transaction Commercialisation at Seven West Media having previously worked at Yahoo!7 business since its inception, most recently as the Director of Strategy.
"I would like to personally thank Stuart for this commitment and efforts over the past year in leading the Yahoo!7 business in the role of CEO. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours," Rose Tsou, Chair of Yahoo!7 board.
The executive recruitment process is already underway to find a new CEO for the media giant, Yahoo7.
Sayers also previously worked at Group General Manager - Strategy for ANZ Group and Engagement Manager McKinsey & Company, according to his LinkedIn profile.
