Fuji Xerox Multifunction Printers: Smart, Green And Affordable

Multifunction devices are quickly becoming a popular choice as they're fit-for-purpose and save space. It was only a few years ago that small businesses would have to allocate a room to satisfy their printing, scanning, copying and faxing needs to cope.

Fuji Xerox has been working fastidiously on freeing up this space, producing a high quality product with environmentally friendly operations. This July, they've announced the launch of their two new multifunction printers, the DocuPrint CM205 fw and its sibling DocuPrint M205 fw , which are respectively wireless colour and monochrome A4 multifunction printers that print, fax, scan and copy. Both printers make use of Fuji Xerox's self-scanning LED (S-LED) and DELCIS technology to produce high quality prints quickly. The M205 monochrome can print up to 24 pages per minute in black and white, while the CM205 colour prints 12 colour pages in the same time.

Well thought out, both printers have a variety of features designed to improve efficiency, including PC Direct Fax and Direct Scan to USB, reducing paper consumption while saving users time.

They also include DocuWorks 7 software, which manages and archives electronic documents. Using built-in and powerful Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, document characters and images are converted into electronic files that can be searched for and edited from a single desktop platform.

Recognising the role mobile phones now play in everyday life, Fuji Xerox has developed 'Print and Scan Utility,' a complimentary app compatible with Apple's iOS. Designed exclusively for colour printing, it can be used with Apple's iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to scan documents, print web pages, contact addresses and photos stored on the devices.

The M205 and CM205 meet stringent Energy Star requirements for reduced power consumption and energy use, aiding in cutting the carbon footprint and ultimately driving savings. Using EA-Eco toner, both printers have reduced carbon dioxide emissions of up to 35 per cent, with power consumption being improved by a further 20 per cent.

The same S-LED technology that makes them speedy ensures the smaller print head requires less energy to operate. A 'toner save mode' does its part reducing each cartridge's toner use by 30 per cent, while also being mindful of waste.

Tying the refined printing, efficiency and green practices together are an intelligent and compact design that frees up valuable home office and business space.

Available from July, the monochrome M205 fw has a RRP of $299, with its CM205 fw colour brother retailing for $439.
