B&W Unveils Zeppelin Premium iPod Speakers

By Manisha Kanetkar | Thursday | 20/09/2007

B&W has unveiled in the US an iPod dock which is designed to raise the bar of iPod sound systems. The Zeppelin speaker system even uses technologies in B&W’s high-end 800 series speaker range.

Zeppelin is an integrated iPod speaker system which promises to create sound that you never dreamed could come from the compressed audio files stored on your iPod. The sytem is compact enough to carry around as well, the company says.

With an emphasis on sleek design and styling the Zeppelin allows you to plug and play your iPod, and control the volume via the remote control. Connectivity options let you play other sources through Zeppelin or channel images from your iPod to a TV.

B&W boasts that Zeppelin is a direct descendant of its 800 Series, which is sought-after by world-leading recording studios from Skywalker Ranch to Abbey Road – where it has been a fixture since the early 80s.

The no-compromises 800 series technology can be found in a budgeted down version in the Zeppelin speaker system.

The system is available in the US only and there is no confirmed market launch date for the rest of the world yet, according to local Bowers & Wilkins distributor Convoy.
