The device is about the size of a chocolate bar and connects between stereo speakers or headphones and a PC, Mac or MP3 player. It then converts the music to high-quality 24-bit surround audio while it is being played back.
The Xmod enhances the high and low frequencies and improves audio dynamics, says Creative. It requires no software installation and can connect to a computer or player in seconds.
Tracks don't have to be converted to a new format – the conversion happens as they are being played.
The Xmod retails for $159.95. More information is available at www.australia.cre
