According to Denon, the ASD-51N and ASD-51W add a greater level of network connectivity to many A/V components by allowing them to stream audio and picture files from a PC or MAC. The devices can stream music from Internet radio stations, connect to network-attached storage devices, and recharges the iPod while in the dock.

In addition, both docks were engineered with "a variety of features and capabilities designed to help custom integrators". For example, they offer IP Control (AMX/Crestron), Web Remote Control, and iPod audio streaming to new Denon networked products. Both models also include a special 'Party Mode' feature for use with new 10-series Networked Denon A/V receivers that allows a user to enjoy music throughout the home played simultaneously in up to five Denon devices on the network.

The new Denon iPod docks provide Windows 7 connectivity and overall faster networking capabilities. The ASD-51W adds Wi-Fi (11b/g) connectivity and WPS compatibility (Wi-Fi protected setup) for easy wireless set-up. Both products come with Digital Coaxial Output, Last Function Memory, and IR pass-through.

The ASD-51N has an RRP of $499, while the ASD-51W sells for $649.
