  Grundig Launches Budget iPod Speakers

By Manisha Kanetkar | Tuesday | 14/08/2007

European brand Grundig is hopping on the iPod wagon with the launch of its first range of iPod sound systems aimed at the budget end of the market.

Headlining the new range is the iPod Music Station (CDS2500IP - $249) which features a universal iPod dock which charges the iPod while docked. It delivers 2 x 5 watts stereo output, and features a 20 watt subwoofer as well as a CD player and FM/AM digital tuner inbuilt. Your iPod, radio and CD can be controlled via the included remote control. The Music Station will be available next month.

Next in the range is a new compact Clock Radio with iPod dock (GCR001IP – $115). The device features an FM/AM radio with an interface for the iPod family and 2 x 3watts speaker. Also sporting a stereo line out connection to allow you to hook up the device to your home stereo, the Clock Radio has a dual alarm and remote control included. It will be available from late next month, the company says.

Ministry of Sound (MOS) also has two new iPod products set to launch including an iPod speaker dock that you can hook up to your TV to watch videos playing from your iPod (the MOSAS079 - $149) and a 2 x 10 watts RMS speaker which is compatible with a range of CD formats as well as WMA and MP3. It comes with an iPod docking station and has a USB and SD card slot as well (MOSMC130IP - $199). The dock is actually available now, while the RMS speaker will be launched in October.
