  Colourful MP3 Player From Toshiba

Toshiba promises to give users something new and different in the MP3 player arena with the launch of its Gigabeat U201.

Available in blue, white, and pink, the Gigabeat U201 MP3 player is described by Toshiba as a colourful, amped-up statement for those music lovers looking for ‘something different'.

Measuring an impressive 76.5mm by 36.2mm by 10.9mm and weighing just 36g, the palm-sized gigabeat U is a 2GB NAND flash player capable of storing up to 500 songs or 2,000 photos. With direct-to-MP3 player music ripping technology, it enables users to conveniently transfer songs from CDs directly to the gigabeat U through its line-in headphone jack.

The gigabeat U201 has a quick 10 minute charge feature that will provide up to 3 hours of continuous music playback and can last up to 20 hours with a full charge. The device is compatible with various audio formats, including MP3, WMA and WAV and even has a built-in equalizer, which allows users to adjust the sound output by either using preset settings, or by manually adjusting the highs and lows to suit their own preferences.

The gigabeat U also features an FM tuner as standard, allowing users to tune in to their favourite radio stations, and an FM transmitter for those that want to pipe music through a home or car radio or even another U series gigabeat.
