  Sony Walkman Walks With You

By Manisha Kanetkar | Monday | 25/09/2006

An MP3 player is pretty much the must-have accessory (after sneakers) for all gym-junkies, and the new S200 Series Sony Walkman is designed especially for the fitness-firsts out there.

The S200 series allows you to designate your music into "running" and "walking" playlists, so that when you're running fast, the player automatically ups the tempo of the music. Likewise, when you slow down, the Walkman claims to detect the change in pace and play suitable chill out music instead.

The player also doubles as a pedometer, allowing you to calculate calories burned by adding in your vital stats. Its tiny 1.5cm size and 25.5 gram weight also helps to make it exercise-friendly. The player, along with the supplied sports armband and headphones are not afraid to get sweaty as they are all splash-proof.

The player also has an inbuilt FM tuner – which is handy for tuning into TV stations at the gym.

Sony says the player will give you three hours of battery life from only three minutes of charge time. It is available in 1G and 2G versions in black or silver.

RRP:
1GB - $249
2GB - $299
