IPODS & PORTABLE PLAYERS / MP3 PLAYERS

  Copy MP3s Between Players

By Caroline Warnes | Sunday | 17/12/2006

A new device that doubles as an MP3 players as well as a host of other things could well and truly be dubbed the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of MP3 players.

The SharePlayer is a combination of an MP3 player, USB bridge and flash memory drive.

According to manufacturer ShareDrives, the technology is a supplement to the existing USB 2.0 specification.  This means you can plug an MP3 player with a male USB into the female USB connector of the SharePlayer and copy files between the two players with the touch of one button.

The functionality doesn't stop there – it's also a digital recorder with built-in microphone and can copy music, files and folders from any computer.

You can download photographs directly to your digital camera or mobile phone and can even encode the MP3 format from any audio source.

And last but not least, there's also an FM tuner with radio recording capability built-in.

The SharePlayer comes in a range of capacities, starting at 128MB, which retails for $US42.75.
