The Nine Inch Widescreen Panasonic DVD-LS91 ($549), comes with electronic skip protection, and car AC adaptor and up to three hours of claimed playback from its battery.

The player comes with wide-ranging playback credentials, including DVD video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, +R, +RW [i], Audio CD, Video CD and CD-R/-RW [ii] discs (HighMAT Level II, WMA, MP3 [iii] and JPEG).

These sources can be viewed on the LCD, which is mounted on an adjustable arm for flexible viewing angles that Panasonic calls ‘freestyle' viewing.

Depth Enhancer and Noise Reduction technology is claimed to deliver a clear and crisp picture and twin headphone outputs provide entertainment for two people, without affecting anyone else within earshot.

"The DVD-LS91 is ideal for travel. It can be powered using your car's AC adaptor, or via the built-in rechargeable battery pack for up to three hours playback," said Panasonic's Jan Ergen. "Furthermore, electronic skip protection ensures that during a bumpy flight or along a bumpy road, the DVD-LS91 will continue offering excellent image and sound quality."
