  The Vikings Take On Apple

By David Richards | Monday | 12/06/2006

anger over the way the computer outfit Apple treats its punters has forced an alliance of Nordic Countries something that has not been effectively managed in modern times.

Denmark, Norway and Sweden teamed up to force Apple to break the exclusive link between its iPod music players and online iTunes store.

This is unusual as the three nations have fought each other in quite nasty wars for a few thousand years. However, it seems that a dislike of Jobs' mob has managed to gather a combined fleet of dragon ships.

The three Scandinavian countries have decided to take iTunes to their respective government mediator.  They are miffed that the only portable players able to play files downloaded form iTunes are Apple's own iPods.

This means that the iTunes terms and conditions are illegal in all three countries. Apple was also naughty for only publishing parts of the contract in English which, despite being a former protectorate of the Norse, is a still difficult for some Scandinavians to understand.
