  First HD iPod Projector

ViewSonic has unveiled the first ‘made for iPod’ projector at the CES 2007 show in Las Vegas.

The PJ258D is the industry's first HD DLP front projector with iPod dock. It uses ViewSonic's ViewDock technology so users can dock their iPod on the projector then share content stored on-board, such as movies and photos, eliminating the need for a computer to project content.

It also charges the iPod's battery while docked so you can stream content from your player for hours on end.

The projector also supports other digital media formats, including S-Video and VGA for quick connection to PCs, DVD players and gaming consoles.

In terms of specifications, the PJ258D boasts a 1024x768 XGA resolution, 2000 lumens of brightness and a 2000:1 contrast ratio.

ViewSonic anticipates the new projector will be popular with teens, home theatre buffs and travellers who want a portable means of enjoy iPod content.

It is expected to be available locally by the end of March. Pricing is yet to be announced.
