Panasonic Recruit Six 'Key' CE Players

By Tony Ibrahim | Tuesday | 13/11/2012

Six "key" members of Panasonics marketing and sales teams have been promoted or appointed in roles pertaining to Pansonic's Lumix, Air Conditioning and Power Tools divisions.

Doug Campbell is now the Product Marketing Manager of the Company's sacred Lumix camera division. Previously Campbell was the product marketing manager of Panasonic's Camcorder range, which is now the responsibility of Samantha Dawson. Dawson worked in product management roles for 8 years at SingTel Optus and has experience in commercial forecasting, consumer sales and corporate customer operations.

In their Air Conditioning Division, Hanny Ibrahim has been assigned the role of Panasonic's National VRF Channel Manager. Prior to his appointment, Ibrahim gained marketing and management experience working for Toshiba, Daikin and Fujitsu.  Most recently he was National VRF Channel and Marketing Manager at AHI-Carrier.

Mukesh Desai is Panasonic's new Product Marketing Manager for their Power Tools division.  Mukesh has around six years of B2B Sales and Marketing management experience and has worked for leading companies including Bosch Power Tools and Procter & Gamble.

Former Panasonic Sales Executive Phil Russell will now assume the role of Channel Manager and interface with NARTA, the largest independent electrical buying group in Australasia, while Gregory Calnon is now Panasonic's National Account Executive of Mass Merchants, after five years of CEG sales experience with the Company.

Panasonic's General Manager of the Consumer Electronics Group, Richard Tassone, said the new appointments reflected the company's outlook for the coming year.

"During the past 12 months Panasonic has significantly diversified its consumer electronics offering and now the current industry climate is showing signs of stability and growth in many areas," Tassone said.

"Panasonic is investing in key areas of its business taking advantage of these changing conditions. The recent appointments and promotions reflect this commitment and provide us with the skills and experience we need to drive further growth in the division."
