It supports all free-to-air standard and high definition broadcasts in both MPEG2 and MPEG4, making it compatible with future digital broadcasts as well as Dolby Digital and MPEG-1 audio decoding.
There is a seven day Electronic Program Guide and timer record programming, so viewers can easily set and forget the unit to record a week's worth of programs.
In addition to using the USB port for recording, it also enables users the ability to play music and video files and can also be used to upgrade the software.
Additional functions include favourite channel function, closed captioning and on screen teletext output with recording capabilities, and multi-language record.
The HDR2500T is available now with an RRP of $699
