Worldpanel ComTech figures seen by CN, show the Apple iPhone 5S was the best selling
smartphone in Australia for the three months to December 31.
followed in second place by Samsung Galaxy S 4, and surprisingly, Apple iPhone 5C, as well as
older models Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 4S, all making it into the top 5.
models are often reinvigorated by a new release, which appears to be the case
with both the iPhone and Samsung S3, with retailers flogging
older models cheaper.

5c last year, although 5c was believed to be largely a flop.
In spite of
iPhone 5s being the best seller last qr, Apple's marketshare actually fell 3% to
35%. Yesterday, it announced it sold 51 million iPhones during Oct-Dec.

Android OS still dominates the Aussie smartphone scene, accounting for 57% of all
phones sold in Q4, up 1%.
Android front, the top 5 sellers were all Samsung's although Sony Xperia Z did get
a look in at No. 5 in Q4 2013.
