HTC One To Get Major Upgrade

By David Richards | Sunday | 23/06/2013

A major HTC One update is set to be released on July 22nd with the highly popular smartphone set to get Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean next month. A customer support page on the Telstra website revealed the details.

Launching with Android 4.1 in tow, the HTC One update would see the smartphone benefit from a selection of small software tweaks, including additional camera features. HTC has yet to officially announce when its metal clad flagship phone will make the jump to the latest Android offering.

The Telstra listing has suggested the HTC One update is currently "waiting for initial vendor submission" and will be approved by early July.

On top of this, the Aussie network has claimed that the Android 4.2.2. HTC One update will be officially released on July 22. It is not currently known as or when the HTC One update will be rolled out to UK-based owners of the 4.7-inch smartphone.

HTC One Features
Arguably the most impressive and desirable handset on the market right now, the HTC One is a powerhouse of the smartphone scene, with a 1.7GHz quad-core processor running the show alongside the Android innards and a strong, 2300mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

With the handset's 4.7-inch display benefitting from a stunning 1920 x 1080p resolution and pin-sharp 469 pixels-per-inch image density, the HTC One sports a stunning brushed aluminium form that lines up at just 9.3mm thick and a mere 143g in weight.

With a 4-ultrapixel snapper lining up on the handset's rear, the HTC One specs sheet is rounded off by a second, 2.1-megapixel forward-facing camera and a pair of forward-facing stereo speakers with Boomsound audio capabilities.
