Smartphones, Meet Jabra's Smart Bluetooth

By Tony Ibrahim | Thursday | 21/02/2013

Jabra's latest Bluetooth is equipped with motion sensors, voice control and NFC for easy pairing.

Jabra has released an advanced Bluetooth headset designed for mobile employees. It's equipped with voice recognition—a feature found in high-end Bluetooth headsets—but built-in motion sensors set this offering apart from the pack. Incoming calls can be answered by simply picking the Bluetooth up or saying the relevant vocal cue.

For a better in-call experience, it intelligently adjusts speaker volume according to the user's movement and surrounding noise levels. To make sure you're not interrupted while on the phone, Jabra has equipped it with a 'Busylight' indicator.

Smartphones and tablets equipped with NFC can be paired easily by tapping the two NFC devices together. Jabra claims Bluetooth connections with a smartphone, tablet or your PC will reach up to 100 metres. Additionally, it works with all leading UC applications (Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya, Skypeâ„¢, Siemens and several others).

Soren Schoennemann, the Managing Director of Jabra in ANZ, said the new headset series was developed in conjunction with the rise of the mobile worker.

"As the workorce continues to move towards mobility, both inside and outside of the office, Jabra is focusing on making communicating on the go as productive and seamless as possible."

Recent studies have shown around 30 per cent of all information workers to be taking work calls from outside the office - 36 per cent at home, 23 per cent in the car and 28 per cent on the go.

Jabra's Motion UC will be released in April and will have a recommended retail price of $219.
