Motorola, which Google has sold to Lenovo, says the unlocked E is "a new class of smartphone that's fully loaded and fairly priced", and is super cheap at A$179.
Analysts predict cheaper smartphones is where demand will be at, as consumers get fed up of paying big bucks.
Moto E's display is made of Corning Gorilla Glass and has a water-resistant splash guard.

Announced in May, Moto E runs Android 4.4.2, KitKat. It is on sale at The Good Guys from this week in Black and White for $177 and JB HiFi, Allphones.
Motorola announced they are rolling out an Android 4.4.4 update for Moto X, E and G phones starting in India and soon to go global, so E will likely soon be updated to the new 'Droid version.

E has a a long-lasting 1980 mAh battery that will "go all day", 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, microSD slot for up to 32GB of expandable memory, Built-in FM radio, WiFi, Bluetooth and has Dual Sim.
It also features colorful interchangeable backs called Shells - 20 color and designs to personalize the look of your Android phone.
Moto has also released a 4G version of Moto G.
It has a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, and runs a quad-core Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 2070 mAh battery. Android 4.4.2, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot.
It is now in Oz on sale for $299 unlocked at The Good Guys only.
The original Moto G 3G version continues to be available from A$249.
