According to the Federal Government Product Recall website, Amber first started selling the TC Electronic BH250 Bass Guitar Amplifier in October 2012. Soon after, it was discovered that a nut inside the chassis could come loose and fall between the electrical coils.
It is not known how many amplifiers Amber has had to recall.
Product Recall claimed that if the defect occurs, there is a real risk that users can get an electrical shock.
Retailers who sold the amplifier include Concept Musical Instruments, Bass Centre, Turramurra Music, Icon Music, Drum Power & Shake it Up Music.
Product Recall said consumers should immediately stop using the amplifiers and arrange to return the unit to Amber Technology for assessment. Affected units will be repaired or replaced.
Customers should contact Amber Technology on 1800 251 367 to arrange for a returns-authorisation number prior to returning the unit.
