New Tommy Hilfigier Jackets Top Up Smartphones + Tablets

Tommy Hilfiger whose clothes are popular in Australia has rolled out a new range of jackets that automatically charge smartphones and tablet, they can be purchased by Australians online.

Ideal for those who work outside in winter or treck in the mountains the new jackets come with with embedded solar panels for charge mobile devices. The battery-equipped tartan garments, available in both mens and womens' styles, have detachable solar panels manufactured by solar company Pvilion.

So far, the company does not have any charging rates published, but the battery in the clothing is a 1,500mAh unit. The battery is also removable, and chargeable through USB. 

The garments retail for US$599, and are available at the Tommy Hilfiger website where Australians can buy the garments. 

50 percent of the proceeds are given to charity according to Tommy Hillfigier.
