Google's Nexus Player has now received Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval and is back on pre-order after Google was forced late last week to pull the device from its online store.

Google Nexus Player Back On Pre-OrderAs reported by Electronista, the suspension of sales was over within days, with the FCC approving the device on Sunday.

Following revelations proper approvals had not been secured, Google pulled the device, but not before several hundred pre-orders had been taken.

The Nexus Player had been available for pre-order from October 17, with Electronista reporting pre-orders were subsequently shut down on October 18 before the FCC granted approval on October 19.

Google's Nexus Player, a collaboration with Asus, is a streaming media player for movies, music and videos, and is the first device running Android TV.

It is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor with a Imagination PowerVR Series 6 Graphics 2D/3D engine, comes with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB storage, and is equipped with 802.11ac 2x2 (MIMO) Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, micro-USB 2.0 and HDMI out.

It is also an Android gaming device, and is Google Cast ready, allowing users to cast from almost any Chromebook, or Android or iOS phone or tablet to their TV.
