|AppleInsider reports that it has obtained a note to investors by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, detailing Apple's wearable timeline over the coming half year, with Kuo believing Apple will launch two versions of the watch.|
The first is expected to feature the same aesthetics, with an improved TSMC processor, with waterproofing to also be slightly improved, AppleInsider reports.
The second, meanwhile, the "Apple Watch 2", will also sport a similar design, and will include a GPS radio and a barometer, along with a higher capacity battery, according to the report.
AppleInsider additionally reports that Kuo expects that Apple will maintain its wearable form factor next year, with LTE support also likely to arrive, while more radical design changes could be on the way in 2018.
According to Canalys, the 2016 second quarter "saw a lull in the market for smartwatches".
Canalys found that Apple shipped only 3 million watches during the first two quarters of the year, however, stated that, ahead of a new Apple Watch, "its shipments are poised to triple in the remainder of the year".
