Jays made sure that users will get ‘the lot’ for $89.95. Besides the earphones, the company has included four additional silicone tips (total of five), an airline adapter, a stereo splitter and a travel case. This is good as some companies don’t even provide users with a carrying case or fail to understand that not everyone has the same ear canal size.
The earphones sport a rubber coated black finish and features a flat cable that is ‘tangle-free’. The cord is 1.15 metres long, which is more than enough for users who plan to put their music player inside their pants pocket. Getting a snug fit to get the best listening experience is as easy as swapping the silicon tips.
The a-Jays Three promises ‘heavy bass impact’ and ‘balanced detailed sound’, which is what we heard during our test. Dance tracks had that punch but did not overwhelm the mids and highs. Mid-range sounded fantastic – vocals were surprisingly warm and crisp. In addition, we found that the earphones were not prone to distortion even at high volumes.
The a-Jays Three is so lightweight (14 grams) that it can be worn for prolonged periods. The flat cords still tangled during our test, but not as bad as other headphones we tested over the past couple of months. As it is an in-ear headphone, it was also able to isolate outside noise and help us enjoy our music in peace.
Overall, the Jays a-Jay Three is a good entry-level earphone – it has great audio, comes with a lot of accessories and can block out distracting external noise. It is available now for $89.95.
