A new flexible food storage fridge called the “Quatro” has been rolled out by Samsung. It has four separate compartments each featuring their own controllable temperature settings. This allows users to set, change and adapt each compartment to what a consumer wants says Samsung.

For example you can set it up as 3 freezers or as three normal fridge settings. In an industry first, individual evaporators acclimatise each compartment to keep food at its optimal humidity. The Samsung Quatro’s intelligent cool air circulation system is able to keep meals at optimal storage temperature and prevent the mixing of odours.
“The Samsung Quatro design gives Australian households unprecedented storage flexibility,” says Michael Lilly, Samsung Whitegoods Senior Product Manager – Kitchen Appliances. “Consumers can adapt fridge space to freezer space to prepare for entertaining friends and family. When the party is over, the drawers can be adjusted back to refrigerator settings to store left-overs.”
Adding style and technical smarts to the kitchen, the Samsung Quatro comes in a real stainless steel finish with drink hatch and tall ice and water dispenser. The unit boasts a massive 752 litre capacity, including a maximum 535 litre refrigerator storage and 405 litre freezer storage. In addition, Samsung’s unique 112 litre ‘Fresh Select Zone’ is a versatile extension of the standard refrigerator, allowing users to select temperatures between 4oC to -5oC. Customise the setting to provide the perfect environment for storage of sensitive foods. In addition, Samsung’s 76 litre ‘Arctic Select Zone’ acts like a mega-extension of the standard freezer, enabling users to select
temperatures from -25oC to 4oC. Space can also be converted from the freezer to a fridge, or to something in between at the touch of a button.
The recipient of numerous awards, including the first home appliance to win the 2006 CES “Best of Innovations” award, the Quatro represents a step forward in refrigeration technology.
