JB Hi-Fi who recently confirmed that they are looking to sell more of their Chinese house brand TV’s has been hit with an order by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission to withdraw from sale, a 42″ Okana TV due to a dodgy stand.
The Okano 42″, Full HD LCD TV, model LTV4200F, which is sold via by both JB Hi Fi and Clive Anthony stores has a TV stand which the ACCC claims detaches from the actual TV chassis.

In a report posted on their web site, it was claimed that the TV screen could fall forward causing an injury to a person in the vicinity of the TV.
The ACCC said that consumers who own one of these TV’s should immediately remove the product from any location where failure of the stand may result in the TV falling and causing injury.
They said that customers should then contact the manufacturer on 1300 765 663 between 8am and 8pm (AEST) to arrange for an in-home replacement of the stand.
Both JB Hi-Fi and Clive Anthony are offering a full refund on the TV.
On the JB Hi Fi Web sites the offending TV got a six star out of six ranking.
