Acer Australia is set to significantly expand their PC offering across both the consumer, education and B2B markets, in Australia following the launch in New York of a complete new product range that include several worlds’ first products.
The launch at the World Trade Centre in lower Manhattan, saw Acer revealed the world’s fastest 14″ Chromebook featuring an Intel Core i processor and up to 12 hours’ battery life. Some of the fastest gaming PC’s in the world that are Virtual Reality ready including one model that comes in its own portable carry case on wheels.
The new Chromebook which is set to be ideal for the education market, comes with a Gorilla Glass case and a spill-resistant keyboard, the device has been drop-tested from a height of 1.4 metres and adheres to the Military Standard (MIL-STND 810G).
Also released is a Switch Alpha 12, 2-in-1 notebook that is liquid-cooled making it extremly silent. Described as the industry’s first fanless 2-in-1 notebook that is built around a 6th Generation Intel Core i processor.
The device has a kick-stand design, a 12-inch 2160×1440 display and an optional backlit keyboard.
In the PC gaming market Acer is currently witnessing significant growth via the specialist channel and Harvey Norman and Bing Lee.
Among the new products set to be launched in Australia is a 17″Predator 17X gaming notebook that delivers overclocking and desktop grade performance to mobile gaming.
Apart from a custom triple-fan cooling system, it also delivers an uncompromising combination of power and portability claims Acer, who are globally growing their share of the PC gaming market up against Dell’s Alienware and Lenovo’s recently launched gaming PC range.
Acer has also introduced a Predator G1 gaming desktop described as ideal for “Lan parties”.
This small and transportable PC, has a full-sized NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics (up to Titan X) and features 6th Generation Intel Core processors and up to 64GB DDR4 RAM.
Also in the new line up from Acer is an S 13 ultrathin notebook, sleek, angular and lightweight at just 1.4 kilo, its expected to sell for sub $900.
Available in Obsidian Blackit is designed around 6th Generation Core processors and has a Full HD IPS displays (touch optional), it delivers up to 13 hours of battery life.
A new R 15 convertible notebook -comes with a metal lid pairs with a body made of a glass fibre and silver particles to improve rigidity while maintaining a thin profile.
Depending on model, it includes 6th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 12GB DDR4 memory, up to NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics and a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display.
Regional management claim that several of the new products are specifically designed for the education market where Acer has expanded their share during the past 12 months.
Acer is also making headway in the Government market and will shortly announce a $10M Federal Government contract according to Acer management.
