Acer is set to crank up he Chromebook market with a brand new all in one Chromebase PC that allows users to access over 30,000 apps.
The move into the Chrome desktop market comes at the same time as as Acer is xpanding their Chrome notebook range to include a 15″ model.
Already several major organisations including the Woolworths supermarket group has moved their day to day operations away from running on a Microsoft OS.

The new Chromebase which was shown at Computex earlier this month is an all-in-one system that hides all the main components behind a 21.5-inch 1080p display that has a 178 degrees viewing angle and an optional ten-point multitouch screen that can be tilted from 15 degrees to 75 degrees.
Inside the Chromebase is an Nvidia Tegra K1 quad-core processor with Kepler graphics, 4GB of RAM, and 16GB of SSD storage. An optional video out via HDMI is supplied, along with a HD webcam, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi connectivity, and Bluetooth 4.0. Power comes from a 65W AC adapter, and it even comes with a white USB keyboard and mouse to match the rest of the AIO system’s design.
Similar to their Chrome based notebooks the new PC a lightweight machine meant for browsing and other online tasks, though it does have some pre-installed apps and can use over 30,000 apps, themes, and extensions in the Chrome Web Store.
Users will also find the small onboard storage is supplemented by 100GB of free Google Drive storage available for two years.
The non-touch model of the Acer Chromebase will be going on sale in Australia shortly and is set to sell for sub $550.
