Acer is set to launch a convertible tablet PC, the Aspire 1820PT. Shown at the CeBIT show in Europe the new offering which has an 11.6″ screen is expected in Australia shortly. Pricing is not known.
The 11.6-inch notebook has an accelerometer for switching over to portrait viewing mode when the device is in tablet mode, and its capacitive multi-touch screen can also support inputs from a stylus, which is housed in the body. Processing power comes thanks to a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs and up to 8GB of RAM .
The display screen delivers 1366×768 resolution. The notebook also has a 320GB hard drive and will come bundled with Windows Premium. It also has WiFi and a HDMI 1.3 connector. Bluetooth will be an option.
