Acer is set to take on the Dell owned Alienware with the launch of a “monster” Predator gaming PC Tuesday, that will have up to 8GB of memory, 1TB driver and the option of three high performance graphic cards and a Blu ray drive.
This gaming machine beast is aimed at taking on Dell with their APS and Alienware offering says Acer Managing Director Charles Chung.
The new Acer gaming PC is powered by Intel Core 2 Extreme or Core 2 Quad processors, nVIDIA nFoce 780i SLi chipset, up to 8GB of memory, up to 1TB of hard drive capacity. You can get up to three nVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX graphic cards or two GeForece 8800 GT.
Other features include TV tuner, Blu-ray Super multi burner, WiFi 802.11b/g, integrated card reader and optional Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum.
Chung said “We are very bullish about this product we aim to sell between 500 and 1000 per month.
In other moves the Company claims that they are doing extremely well in the entertainment and specialty notebook market with the Company forecasting growth for their 17″ Blue ray Gemstone notebooks. Chung also said that the Company had sold out of their limited edition Ferrari notebooks in two weeks with the units selling at a recommended retail price of $3,600.
