If you have a lot of files stored on your hard drive, then backing up your data is definitely a must. The Acronis True Image 2009 is more than just a backup software, it comes with a whole lot of programs that can protect your computer on a 24/7 basis.

After backing up your data, users can start checking out the main features of the software. The interface is clean, with each icon having a short description on what it can do. Users can either Back Up, Manage and Restore back up data, Schedule tasks, or ‘Try and Decide.’ This function of the True Image allows a user to install new programs or open ‘suspicious’ e-mails without corrupting your OS.
The Home screen also has a System Information menu that displays the protection status of your PC, a One-click Protection that automatically backs up your system volume and Master Boot Record, Protection Tools that allows a user to create a bootable disk and Startup Recovery Manager, Cleanup utilities that cleans your hard drive, and a Search bar that allows you to look for backed up files.

Backup time really depends on how much data you have on your hard drive, but overall, we found it quick and easy. Users can use the computer while backing up as the software does not use a lot of CPU memory, but if you don’t like the program running while you are working, you can always change the backup time (with users being able to turn off the PC after backing up). The restore process was easy, with us only having to click on the backed up file to restore data.
The only gripe we have about this software is the fact that it takes quite some time before it loads, and it slowed our PC significantly during start-up.
We recommend the Acronis Image Home 2009 for home users who want an easy way to back their precious data up anytime. It also comes with a lot of features that can keep you safe no matter what you are doing. This software is available for download at acronis.com.au and costs $69.99.
