The Fox Sports ground-breaking 100% AFL Channel, was launched at Parliament House, Canberra by Collingwood president, Eddie McGuire, last night.
The spanking new channel will broadcast every game of the home and away season live and uninterrupted “siren to siren” including the entire Finals series in HD and with no ad breaks.
(Considering the amount of ad breaks on free-to-air that is something to celebrate).
Only the AFL Grand Final will be broadcast on delay.
Fox Footy kicked off the 2012 season with live coverage of the NAB Cup with the first triangular match between Hawthorn, Richmond and North Melbourne last month.
And Footy’s live coverage is also even better with Eddie McGuire joining Dermott Brereton, Jason Dunstall, Paul Roos, and Alastair Lynch to talk you through each game.
Other Footy presenters and players were also in attendance at last night’s launch included Gerard Healy, Brad Johnson, Anthony Hudson and Alastair Lynch as well as Minister of Communications, Senator Stephen Conroy.
And Foxtel CEO Petra Buchanan, is still blowing the whistle for Pay TV despite Austar recent drop in subscribers, announced last week.
“The launch of FOX FOOTY amplifies Subscription TV’s commitment to provide unprecedented coverage of sport to subscribers, ” she said in a statement.
“Subscription TV continues to pioneer a new broadcast landscape meeting consumer demand for a variety of content and innovative services and technologies.”
