Fisher and Paykel don’t just want to sell one fridge.. it wants to sell a whole kitchen
Haier-owned Fisher & Paykel is getting aggressive, matching its new ActiveSmart refrigerators with its Built-in Oven, DishDrawer and ovens, to sell consumers a complete kitchen.
The appliance giant is now looking to offer consumers “a complete family of kitchen appliance” rather than just one, by coordinating appliances colour scheme.
The news comes as Samsung may be about to launch a store-in-store for appliances, showcasing its complete kitchen of appliance range in one retail concept.
Fisher & Paykel new ActiveSmart technology platform makes its fridges smarter, with a microprocessor that controls how the fridge operates and receives information from the sensors, and monitors usage.

It also has interior temperature sensors, independently variable speed fans and multiple air ducts, and have the intelligence to know that ‘apples like to breathe while lettuce likes to hold its breath.’
SmartTouch Control panel allows fingertip control of temperature, Humidity Control System that creates the perfect microclimate in each produce bin.
ActiveSmart refrigerators new Slimline Water dispenser with black interface and chrome strip that “perfectly matches” other Fisher & Paykel appliances, and come in either stainless steel or classic white.
They also have other smarter features including Ice Boost that increases ice production by up to 30% daily (compared to previous models).
Fisher & Paykel’s comes in a variety sizes – the 900mm French Door, 790mm French Door, 790mm Door Drawer, 680mm Bottom Freezer and the 635mm Bottom Freezer – with most models available in the Ice & Water slimline dispenser variant.
