Alcatel has officially released its hybrid 3T 10 Tablet and Audio Station ($324) to local Telstra stores, following its unveiling at Mobile World Congress in February.
Owned by Chinese tech giant, TCL, Alcatel claims to be Australia’s third largest smartphone seller, dominating the ultra-affordable market.
The news sees Alcatel further expand its electronics portfolio from phones, whilst parent TCL launches a sub $500 premium handset into the Aussie market later this year.

The new hybrid product includes a HD 10-inch tablet and dual front speakers, comes pre-installed Google Assistant and features a 4,080mAh battery for up to eight hours usage.
The device is also available via Telstra on a plan – $9 over 36 months, or $13.50 a month over 24 months.
Powered by Android 9.0 Pie the 2-in-1 product includes a lightweight optional speaker which connects for more robust sound, or acts as a hands-free stand.
Harnessing three built-in microphones, users can engage in voice commands from up to 3 metres away – e.g. play movies/music, receive recipe instructions, control smart home devices and more.
When paired with the accompanying Audio Station, users can engage in up to seven hours of continuous music.

The accompanying Audio Station includes a variety of connectivity options including a 3.5mm aux port, plus microUSB and microSD card reader. Users can also connect up to two Bluetooth devices at once.
The tablet offers facial unlocking via a 30 degree detection radius and 106 key points for hands-free unlocking.
