According to DigiTimes LCD monitor vendors expect all-in-one PCs to dampen monitor sales in 2009 in according to market sources.
LCD monitor shipments have been dropping over the past few months because of the growing popularity of notebooks and netbooks, and shipments will receive further impact next year when first-tier PC vendors such Asustek Computer and Hewlett-Packard (HP) introduce low-cost all-in-one PCs into the market, the sources explained.
Although some vendors are bundling netbooks and LCD monitors in order to stimulate monitor sales, the sources commented that such bundle deals may not boost monitor sales much because netobooks are chiefly meant to be a mobile device for which an extra monitor is not necessary, the sources noted.
