Symantec has launched its all-in-one security software package Norton 360 which promises consumers PC protection, online banking security, automatic backup and PC tune up capabilities.
Norton 360 includes all the features from Internet Security, AntiVirus and Confidential (though without the password encryption and security feature from Confidential) in one software package.
The company says Norton 360 works as automatically as possible and is designed with families who use the Internet for paying bills, storing photos and music and instant messaging in mind.
The PC security feature targets virus, spyware and hacking threats and can identify malware in real time via the Symantec Online Network. Transaction security involves anti-phishing protection for online shopping or banking.
The Backup and restore feature automatically identifies new and updated files and organises the content into categories. You can choose multiple storage destinations as well.
PC tune up removes what Symantec calls ‘unnecessary clutter’ such as Windows and Internet temp files. It also analyses and defragments your hard drives, and monitors your system for user input, CPU usage and disk activity.
RRP: $129.95 which covers 3 PCs and includes a one-year service subscription to use the product and receive Symantec protection updates.
