Google is set to release Android 10 today with several new features including a dark mode.
Among the smartphones that could be first in line to receive Android 10 are the Google Pixel, some Samsung devices and One Plus 7, other devices are set to follow later. The big loser is set to be Huawei with none of their devices set to get the new upgrade.
Formally unveiled at Google’s I/O developer conference earlier this year the new software comes with several upgrades and enhanced functionality,
for fans to get excited about including a dark mode.
First and foremost, Android 10 finally introduces a dark theme for the operating system.
While some third-party vendors like Huawei and Samsung have already released such modes for their respective Android skins, Android 10 will mark the first time a dark theme is natively embedded within the platform in addition the back button has been eliminated all you do now is swipe inward from either the left or right-hand side of a mobile’s screen.
Also being introduced is a gestures feature that are used to navigate the operating system.
Android 10 also improves notifications, increases device security and adds several nifty new features such as Live Caption.
Google had initially been expected to release Android 10 in August – the same month in which the last three versions of Android have debuted in full.
Now it seems the new operating system will release tomorrow.
Recently, Canadian network Rogers declared Android 10 would be granted to some mobiles on September 3.
9to5Google noticed such claims were made in a forum post – it was noted “Q OS”, which is presumed to stand for Android 10’s codename Q, would arrive for all Google Pixel devices on the date.
Samsung are renowned for taking a significant period to bring new Android iterations to their handsets but if they do roll it out this week it will be a first.
When Android 9 Pie was released in August last year, Samsung devices had to wait until December and beyond to be granted the fresh operating system.
