Its Android-on your wrist.LG eyes mainstream use of wearables with new G Watch. LG’s G Watch is one of the first ‘Android Wear’ devices announced by Google overnight and connects with an Android phone, and basically works as a mobile on your wrist.
Samsung Gear Live and Motorola also have new watches running Android Wear.
LG says the G Watch will appeal to a mass audience with its “glance-able” access to information and seamless connectivity with other Android devices. It is listed on Google Play store for A$249 and leave warehouse on 4 July.
The Wear platform is designed around cards, which provides information, show texts, emails, and voice recognition. It allows you to ask Google questions, find your calender info and turn by turn navigation and users can send texts and search the web just by saying, “OK Google”.
G Watch has a 1.65-inch IPS display, a powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocking in at 1.2GHz, and connects via Bluetooth. It is dust and water resistant for up to 30 minutes to a depth of one meter.

G will be available in Black Titan and White Gold and is constructed of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coated stainless steel with a rugged silicone wristband in the matching color. The G can be personalized with any standard 22mm strap.
On sale in the US now, G Watch will also be available soon at retailers in 27 markets including Australia, Brazil, Mexico and New Zealand. “As one of the first to market with Android Wear, LG wanted to develop a product that functions as an essential companion device but most importantly, was simple to use,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO LG Mobile.
“We wanted a device that would be simple to learn and so intuitive that users wouldn’t even have to think about how to use its features. That’s what the LG G Watch is all about.”

Samsung Gear Live has a 1.63″ 320 x 320 Super AMOLED display, 4 GB internal storage with 512 MB RAM, has Accelerometer, Digital compass,Gyroscope, Heart rate monitor and a processor running at 1.2 GHz. It is also waterproof and dust resistant.
It is listed in Google Play Australia store as “coming soon” for A$250.
The Moto 360 is the most ‘watch’ looking of the lot – with its round face designed by David Pascua and is also the best looking overall. Specs are lacking on Motorola’s 360 but we should see more soon.
